INTRODUCTION
There are two models in this series, the USB-844-BC and the USB-844-KM-BC.
The USB-844-BC "MegaCast"
USB Keyboard or USB Mouse Broadcaster-Multicaster connects either one USB keyboard
or one USB mouse to up to four PC’s.
The USB-844-KM-BC connects both a keyboard and a mouse to up to four PC’s.
In both units, the keyboard and/or mouse are routed simultaneously to all connected PC’s. Both models allow one hub
between the input devices and the Broadcaster-Multicaster. The hub may be external or built into the keyboard or mouse.
Both models feature expansion to more than four PC’s by connecting units in series. Using three units, with two ports from
one unit connected to inputs of two additional units, ten PC’s can be accessed. Two units connect to four PC’s each, giving
eight, and the remaining two ports on the first unit give two more ports, for a total of ten.
Both models come with the VIP-211 power supply.
Note: The "MegaCast” does not come with USB connection cables. One USB type A-B cable per PC is needed for either
unit. They may be ordered from Vetra separately. In addition, if units are connected in series for expanding the number of
ports, one USB type A-B cable is needed to connect one "MegaCast"
unit to another.
INSTALLATION
The PC's may be powered or not when you connect them to the Broadcaster-Multicaster.
Keyboard or mouse may be connected to the Broadcaster at any time.
There are two main steps to make the Broadcaster-Multicaster ready for use:
1. Connect PC's to Broadcaster unit:
Connect any available USB input on the PC's to the Broadcaster using USB A-B cables. Connect PC #1's USB port to the
back panel connector of the Broadcaster marked "PC1". Connect PC’s #2 thru #4 USB ports to the appropriate back
panel connectors of the Broadcaster marked "PC2" thru “PC4”. The Broadcaster-Multicaster will operate with less than all
four PC's connected.
2. Connect Keyboard and/or Mouse to Broadcaster-Multicaster unit:
For the USB-844-BC connect a USB keyboard or mouse to the Broadcaster at the back panel marked “DEVICE IN”.
For the USB-844-KM-BC connect the USB keyboard to the Broadcaster-Multicaster at the back panel marked “KEYBOARD
IN” and the mouse to the back panel connector marked “MOUSE”.
