2.3 Intended use
The VETTER SmartTarget is used solely to pick up and transport loads. The SmartTarget is merely an assistance system. Its
use certainly does not replace the general safety and care obligations. The SmartTarget is intended only for use with industri-
al trucks.

Risk of injury when put to improper use!
Improper use of the VETTER SmartTarget can cause dangerous situations and severe injuries.

Never neglect the general safety and care obligations. If in doubt, make sure personally that
there are no people or hindrances in the danger zone of the industrial truck.
▪
Never use SmartTarget at temperatures outside the temperature range of -20°C to +50°C.
▪
Never use SmartTarget with a rotating machine.
▪
Never use industrial trucks equipped with SmartTarget in a potentially explosive atmosphere.
▪
Never allow unauthorised people to have access to the industrial truck.
▪
Never have maintenance and troubleshooting work carried out by inadequately qualified personnel.
▪
Never skip any maintenance intervals.
▪
Never proceed with any unauthorised modifications to the SmartTarget.
The intended use includes compliance with all details stated in this manual.
Any usage going beyond or deviating from the intended use is deemed to be improper use.
Using the VETTER SmartTarget without the stipulated safety markings is deemed to be improper use.
