5 Operation
General safety obligation
WARNING!
Mortal danger from incomplete visibility!
The SmartTarget is an assistance system for picking up loads. It does not register people and
objects beneath or in front of the load being picked up. Failure to detect people or objects in the
danger zone poses the risk of severe accidents.

SmartTarget is only an assistance system. Always comply with the general safety and care
obligations.
▪
Make sure that there are no people or objects in the danger zone of the industrial truck.
▪
If visibility is impaired in the transportation area, get out of the truck to examine the situation
or ask a banksman for assistance.

5.1 Operating the SmartTarget
WARNING!
Risk of dazzling from laser beams
The line laser target function uses laser beams up to class 1M. There is a risk of dazzling. There
is also a risk of damage to the eyes if you look deliberately into the beam path for a longer period
of time.

Do not look into the beam or observe the beam directly with optical instruments
(e.g. magnifier or binoculars).
Check the supplied documents for the technical data of the used laser or ask the
Customer Service.
SmartTarget is particularly helpful when sighting pick-up bags or when picking up loads at
concealed heights. The function is only warranted in unloaded state.
