Battery watch BW312A / BW324A
Discharge monitor
If due to discharging the voltage of the auxiliary battery is dropped to 10.5 Volt resp. 22 Volt
the relay will be switched off. With this excessive discharge of the battery is prevented. As
soon as the battery voltage rises to 11.5 Volt resp. 23.5 Volt the relay will again be ener-
gized.
Whether the relay is switched on or off is indicated by the LED ‘RELAY’.
Note: Overruling the discharge monitor is not possible.
Automatic trickle charge
If a battery charger/inverter is connected to the auxiliary battery the battery charger can
also provide a sustain charge to the bow prop and starter battery (trickle charge). If the
auxillary battery voltage is higher than 13.2 V the trickle charger is switched ON. If the aux-
illary battery voltage drops below 12.2 V the trickle charger will be switched OFF.
ALARM-Switch -3-
With the ‘ALARM’ switch the buzzer can be preset to sound or not if an under voltage of
one or more of the batteries is detected.
BATTERY SELECT Switch -4-
The battery select switch is used to hold the monitoring voltage of the particular battery.
One of the LED’s ‘LIGHT’, ‘START’ or ‘THRUSTER’ lights up to indicate type of the battery
selected.
ALARM-LED -5-
This LED indicates that the voltage of one or more of the batteries is below 11 Volt resp.
22.5 Volt.
RELAY-LED -6-
This LED indicates that the relay which connects the auxiliaries to the auxiliary battery is
switched on.
ALTERNATOR-LED -7-
This LED indicates that the alternator charges the batteries.
The battery watch is maintenance-free.
