First Available Alarm Mode Example
An example of First Available Mode is shown in the First Available Mode
figure that follows. The figure is divided into four parts: A, B, C and D. Initial
conditions are as follows for this example:
First Available Alarm mode
First In First Out order
Monitors 1, 2, 3 are alarm monitors.
In part A, the alarm actions are shown that were defined using the Alarm
Actions screen. Video from cameras 1, 2 and 15 are defined and monitors 1,
2 and 3 have been assigned priority levels 2, 1 and 1, respectively on the
Monitor Displays screen.
When an alarm occurs in a system defined as First Available Alarm stacking
mode, the following rules apply:
Alarms display on alarm monitors in monitor priority level order
Monitors can have the same monitor priority level. In that case,
alarms display in order of the monitor number
If all alarm monitors are busy displaying alarm video, new alarms will
be placed on the stack as defined by the Alarm Input Order field on
the Alarm Stacking Mode screen.
In part B, alarm 1 occurs and routes video from camera 1, preset position 1
to the monitor with the highest priority level. Note that monitors with lower
priority numbers are defined by the system as the high priority level monitors.
For example, priority level 1 is higher than priority level 2.
Both monitors 2 and 3 have a priority level of 1, but the alarm will display on
monitor 2. When two or more monitors have the same priority and an alarm
is received, the system will then use the monitor number to route the alarm.
In part C, alarm 2 is activated. Monitor 2 is busy displaying alarm 1, which
has not yet been cleared from the system. Monitor 3 will display alarm 2
because it has a higher priority level (1) than monitor 1, which has priority
level of 2.
In part D, alarm 3 displays on monitor 1 because the alarms have not been
cleared on monitors 1 or 2. If for example, the alarm on monitor 2 had
already been cleared when alarm 3 was activated, alarm 3 would have
displayed on monitor 2 instead of monitor 1 because it has a higher priority
number.
