ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT AND ACCESSORIES

C o n t r o l s

Scanner controls are available in Phase Eight modules and
in two control voltages. Refer to Table   for a listing of
controls and their associated scanners. Each control
provides pushbutton operation of the scanner in both the
manual and automatic modes, a POWER switch, and an
indicator lamp.

Line Cord Option: Model 

 Line Cord permits the

 versions of the 

 and V32 1 OAP scanners to be

connected directly to a 120V convenience outlet. The

 consists of six-foot # 18 AWG two-conductor 

1 cable fitted with an unpolarized two-prong plug and a

keyed AMP connector with a positive locking device.

The Vicon

 Wall Mounts are de-

signed for mounting the 

 Series Scanners. Model

 Series Scanners  are  designed to be used with the

 Wall Mounts. Installation of these

1. Read Instructions   All the safety and operating instruc-

tions should be read before the appliance is operated.

2. Retain instructions   The safety and operating 
tions should be retained for future reference.

3. Heed Warnings   All warnings on the appliance and in the
operating instructions should be adhered to.

4. Follow Instructions   All operating and use 

should be followed.

5. Cleaning   Unplug the scanner from the wall outlet before
cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol cleaners,
Use a damp cloth for cleaning.

6. Attachments   Do not use attachments not recom-
mended by Vicon as they may cause hazards.

7. Water and Moisture -Do not use this scanner near water
for example, near a bath tub, wash bowl, kitchen sink, or
laundry tub, in a wet basement, or near a swimming pool,
and the like.

8.  Mounts   Do not place this scanner on an unstable cart,
stand, tripod, bracket, or table. The scanner may fall,
causing serious injury and serious damage to the appli-
ance. Use only with mounting hardware recommended by
Vicon. Any mounting of the scanner should follow the

Instructions in the 

 section.

9.

Ventilation -The scanner should never be mounted near

or over a radiator or heat register. 

 product should not be

placed in a built-in installation such as a bookcase or rack

unless proper 

 is provided or Vicon’s instructions

have been adhered to.

Power Sources-This scanner should be operated only

from the type of power source indicated on the marking
label. If you are not sure of the type of power supply at your
installation site, consult your Vicon dealer or local power
c o m p a n y .

11. Grounding or Polarization   The 

 line cord

 is equipped with a 3-wire grounding-type plug, a plug

having a third (grounding) pin. This 

 

 only fit into a

grounding-type power outlet. This is a safety feature. If you
are unable to insert the plug into the outlet, contact your
electrician to replace your obsolete outlet. Do not defeat the
safety purpose of the grounding-type plug.

12. Power-Cord Protection 

 Power-supply cords should be

routed so that they are not likely to be walked on or pinched
by items placed upon or against them, paying particular
attention to cords at plugs, convenience receptacles, and
the point where they exit from the appliance.

13. Overloading   Do not overload wall outlets and exten-

sion cords as this can result in a risk of fire or electric shock.

14. Object  and Liquid Entry   Never push objects of any kind

into this scanner through openings as they may touch
dangerous voltage points or short-out parts that could result
