Quick Guide
Using ViconNet
Adding Cameras and Devices
A camera or device must be added to the Nucleus of the system to be
recognized on the ViconNet site list. ViconNet cameras must point to the
Nucleus in their setup. Vicon open standard cameras, as well as cameras
from other manufacturers (third party), must be added to the system.
From the
System Setting
s window, select . The
Vicon
and other vendor open standard camera settings
screen displays.
Click for a Vicon camera or .
for open standard cameras from other vendors, or
for Vicon cameras already setup on the
Open Standard Camera settings
screen. If you are not sure what type of camera you have, click
to access a list of Vicon cameras supported as open standard. The
detected cameras are displayed and added automatically to the list.
Note
The JUMP and ZONE systems have limitations to the number of cameras
that can be displayed in the Site List, 6 for the JUMP and 16 or 24 for the
ZONE. Cameras are added to the Site List in the order they are connected
to the system. For example, for a JUMP, the first 6 cameras selected will
be listed in the Site List, no matter how many cameras are added
afterwards. Therefore, it is important to make your camera selections
carefully in order to have access to those you require.
Getting Started
After all connections are made, the NVR can be configured. The NVRs are
delivered registered from the factory and the storage database is
configured to the maximum. Working with ViconNet is the same for the
NVR or for an NVR that is loaded with VJP-SWV7 or the VZN-SWV7.
Note
The VJP NVR does not support local display. It can be used with the
ViconNet Web Viewer to view local video (refer to
Using the Web Viewer
at the end of this manual).
Logging in to the ViconNet application is performed using your assigned
user name and password. The allowed system operations are dependent
on your assigned authorization rights.
