Important Information before Operating
DA N G ER !
•
Ensure you understand all operating procedures for operating the VTI
Backhoe.
•
DISENGAGE safety lock pins for the boom and the swing pivot before
attempting to operate the backhoe, store lock pins in the holes provided
in the operator platform.
•
Always operate from the backhoe operator's seat only.
•
LOWER the stabilizers until the rear of the tractor is supported by them.
NOTE: Rear tires should not come up off of the ground.
•
DO NOT dig near the stabilizers.
•
DO NOT attempt to raise the tractor off the ground or move the tractor
forward or backward using the backhoe dipper stick or bucket.
•
DO NOT lose stability by swinging the bucket downhill on a slope.
•
DO NOT lower the Backhoe boom using the ‘float’ function. It will freefall
and could injure bystanders or damage the Backhoe.
•
DO NOT touch overhead wires with any part of the Backhoe.
•
Use extreme caution when driving the tractor. Blind spots can be the
cause of severe damage, injury or death.
•
Watch for people, pets, potholes, stones, rocks and puddles of water.
•
The speed at which the backhoe operates is partially dependent on PTO
rpm. Use a moderate speed to start and increase it as your experience
permits.

Ensure you understand all safety signs on the tractor and the Backhoe.
◼
Check that the working area is relatively level, smooth, and free of obstacles.
◼
Always maintain a full view of the working area during operation.
◼
Keep animals and children far away from the equipment.
◼
Adhere to PPE safety regulations as described in both tractor
’s
and Backhoe
’s
Operator
manuals.
◼
Inspect the whole Backhoe visually and check all vital components like fasteners and hitch
connection points. Ensure all security pins are in place.
◼
Ensure the hydraulic system is correctly filled.
