General Troubleshooting
This section can help the operator when a problem arises. It gives basic guidelines if something on
the woodchipper is not working correctly. If the procedures in this section do not solve the
problem, the owner should contact the Victory Service department for assistance.

The flywheel head slows,
but the tractor does not.
PTO shaft shear bolt has broken. Replace shear bolt from PTO
shaft.
Feed rollers stop
unexpectedly.
•
Hydraulic oil level is low.
•
Air in the hydraulic system.
•
Key on hydraulic pump
sheared.
•
The high-pressure relief valve
is stuck open.
•
Fill the tank with 15W40 motor
oil.
•
Let sit for one day for air to
work its way out.
•
Replace key.
•
Call Victory Support for
personal assistance adjusting
this.
Not chipping clean or chip
deflector plugging.
•
Flywheel knives are dull.
•
Chipper's head is turning too
slowly.
•
Sharpen or replace knives.
•
Check that PTO speed is at
540 RPM.
Unit won’t feed limbs
properly.
•
Not enough down pressure on
limbs.
•
The feed fork is too wide.
•
Feed roll tension springs
stretched wide.
•
Adjust eyebolts to increase
spring tension.
•
Remove and trim.
•
Replace springs.
Feed roller slow in cold
weather.
•
Oil is too cold.
•
Run the machine for 5-10
minutes to warm the oil, or
replace oil with the
recommended viscosity oil.
