Gearbox oil check 

 

 

Remove the breather nipple (1) and 
fill the gearbox with oil. 
The gearbox must be filled 2/3. 
Check the oil level using a dipstick. 
Use Oil 

SAE-80/90

; (Total 1½ 

Quarts).  

 

Fit and tighten the breather nipple. 

 
 

N O T I CE :  

 

 

Ensure that the grease nipples are screwed in tightly. Occasionally, dried 
paint may cover the end of the fitting on the shaft.  
Remove this by scraping the paint off with a knife before injecting grease 
into these nipples. 

 

8.3

 

Service Period 

 

The recommended period is based on normal operating conditions. Severe or unusual 
conditions may require more frequent maintenance. 

8.3.1

 

8 Hours or Daily Maintenance 

 

Check all nuts and bolts in connection parts; replace if required.  

 

Pump grease into each grease nipple three to five times, also in the PTO shaft. 

 

Clean the implement; take away all debris and residue. 

8.3.2

 

Season Maintenance 

 

Check the machine as above for daily maintenance. 

 

Check the bearings of blade spindles for wear and tear. If worn, disassemble, clean or replace 
them if necessary; use grease as required. 

 

Check the drive belts, and tighten them if necessary. 

Annual Maintenance 

1.

 

Thoroughly clean the flail mower of debris and residue. 

2.

 

Drain the gearbox and clean it thoroughly. Fill with new gear oil up to the dedicated oil level.
