Using the Product for its correct Pur-
pose

This product is designed 

- for mounting into a H0 model railway car, 

you must obey the following instructions.

- for operation with a power supply up to 

22 V AC/DC

- for oparating in a dry area

Manual can help you

Even if you do not have any technical 
knowledge these instruction will help you 
to install the electrical couplers and to get 
many years of outstanding service from 
them. But before you start with the instal-
lation please read this manual carefully, 
particularly the remarks regarding safety 
and how to diagnose and rectify faults. 
Then you will know what to look out for and 
you will avoid mistakes that sometimes can 
only be fixed with considerable effort.

Keep these instructions since they may 
help you at a later stage to diagnose pos-
sible faults and to re-establish full functio-
nality.

Should you pass on the coupler to some-
body else, please also give them the in-
structions.

3. Function

The electric couplers are modified Fleisch-
mann-PROFI couplers 6515.

They have a shaft matching the pocket as 
per NEM 362.

There are small wires integrated into the 
couplers that make contact and transmit 
current from one vehicle to the next.

The couplers have all the features of the 
Fleischmann-PROFI couplers such as nor-
mal un-coupling and delayed un-coupling. 
The electrical wire also serves as a stabi-
liser in the vertical. Thus unintended un-
coupling at the start of a gradient is pre-
vented.

5. Visual Check

Faulty material or transit damage may re-
present danger. Please give the contents a 
visual check.

Inspect the coupler heads and particularly 
the wires and cables. Should there be any 
damage return the entire package for a 
replacement.

6. Installation

These couplers are designed for cars and 
locomotives with standardised coupler 
pockets as per NEM 362. Exchange the 
existing couplers against the electric ones. 

Then feed the wires into the railway car. 
Pay attention to the fact that the bogies 
have to move freely and must not be 
touched by the wires!

Connect the load (e.g. 

Viessmann

 interior 

lighting set as per figure 1). Please also 
refer to the instructions of the supplier of 
the respective load.

Please note: the couplers can carry a 
maximum current of 1 A per contact. If 
several loads are powered from one 
source you have to add the current 
draw of all loads.

Generally the current would be fed via the 
couplers from the wheel pick-ups of the 
locomotive through the train. If cars without 
electric loads are part of the train they also 
have to be equipped with electric couplers. 
The cables of both couplers are then con-
nected to provide through wiring (one ca-
ble from one coupler to the other and the 
same with the second cable).

There is no current transferred from one 
coupler to the other. Possible reasons are:

a) The wire brackets of the couplers are 

bent.

Adjust / re-bend the wires.

b) The connecting cables are torn off or not 

properly soldered.

Check all connections.

If you cannot find the cause of the fault 
send the couplers to
