The Vitoligno 300-H has been developed for the automatic combustion
of all kinds of dry and damp wood fuel (woodchips up to w30 / G50 and
pellets). The Vitoligno 300-H is particularly impressive thanks to its
extremely high efficiency and perfect combustion at all load stages.
The boiler has been tested and approved to EN 303-5 (boilers for solid
fuel) and classified as boiler category 5. It comes with the CE desig-
nation to the European Machinery Directive, with on-going quality
inspections by TÜV.
Function
The feed screw conveyor charges fuel into the combustion chamber
from the side. The burn-back temperature sensor and the thermal
extinguishing valve are located at the feed. The dosing hopper with
light barrier for determining the level of the fuel barrier layer required
by TRD 414 is mounted above the screw conveyor.
Fuel is ignited automatically by an electric hot air fan. Fuel is degassed
at the sliding grate which is actuated by a worm gear motor. The grate
is cleaned by a sideways movement which causes the ash to fall from
the grate into the ash removal screw conveyor underneath which dis-
charges it into the ash box (automatic ash removal from the combus-
tion chamber). Some of the firebed remains on the sliding grate to
quickly and effectively re-ignite the fresh fuel charge. The combustion
chamber is lined with high-temperature resistant silicon carbide ele-
ments and encased in a highly heat resistant thermal envelope.
The fuel gases released by the combustion are routed through the
flame pipe into the secondary combustion chamber. The constriction
in the diameter of the flame pipe causes excellent mixing of fuel gases
with the secondary air. This ensures long burn-out times and complete
combustion.
The thermal energy from the combustion gases is transferred to the
boiler water via the vertical tubular heat exchanger. The tubular heat
exchanger is automatically and regularly cleaned by turbulators. At the
same time, the turbulators optimise boiler efficiency. Ash in the heat
exchanger is also conveyed to the ash box via an ash removal screw
conveyor (automatic ash removal from the heat exchanger). This pro-
vides for long cleaning intervals and a permanently good heat trans-
fer.
The boiler is fully insulated and encased. Above the boiler, a clearance
to the ceiling is required for maintenance purposes, to enable the tur-
bulators to be extracted.
Integral control unit for the entire system
The control unit is integrated into the boiler and is fully wired to all
sensors and drives. This makes for a straightforward and quick instal-
lation. It includes modulating output control from 30 – 100 % of rated
heating output and combustion control via flue gas temperature sen-
sor, Lambda probe and fully automatic secondary and primary air
dampers.
3 heating circuits with mixer, 2 heating circuits with mixer plus DHW
heating or one heating circuit with mixer, solar circuit plus DHW heating
can be directly connected to the boiler at the integral PCB (when all
PCB connections are used for heating circuits).
