Installing the Hard Drive(s)
Before proceeding, be sure you are thoroughly familiar with the information in “Before
You Begin” at the front of this chapter. Hard Drives need to be installed into the hard
disk carriers of the system in order to function; this is achieved in the following way:
NOTE:
This procedure assumes that the hard drives have been removed from the
carrier as described in the previous “Removing the Hard Drives” procedure.
1.
Place the hard drive within the carrier
2. Align and place the hard drive within the carrier in an empty slot, with the SCSI
or IDE connector facing away from the chassis fan in the carrier.
3. Use a Phillips screwdriver and four screws to securely attach the disk carrier to
the drive.
