6.  CONNECTING THE SCANNER TO A COMPUTER

A USB cable is supplied for connection to a computer.

Use the free BackHome Data Transfer software available at:

https://corporate.virbac.com/home/discover-virbac/

virbac-worldwide.html

In this URL you will find instructions for using this software as

well as instructions for using Bluetooth.

This software allows to transfer data from the scanner to a

computer.

7. CHARGING THE BATTERY

The reader is powered by a rechargeable battery that can

perform several thousand readings. It can be recharged by

connecting the reader to the mini-USB port (2) with the cable

supplied.  A red LED (5) indicates that charging is in progress and

a green LED (5) indicates that it is fully charged.

The life expectancy of the battery depends not only on its use,

but also on the environment in which the reader is stored.

You can read the battery charge level on

the indicator in the upper right corner of

the display (5). If the charge is too low, the reader will display

the following message:

Ten more readings are allowed before the scanner

automatically shuts down.

8. PRECAUTIONS FOR USE

• Do not drop the scanner from height or onto a hard surface.

• Do not expose the scanner to excessive moisture.

• Do not expose to liquids that could damage the electronic

circuits.

• Do not place anything on the scanner, which could press a

button continuously and discharge the battery.

• Do not expose the scanner to temperatures above 50°C,

otherwise the screen contrast and color may change, and

reading may become impossible. If the scanner has been

exposed to a high temperature, return it to a normal

environment before further use.

• In the case of failure, check that the battery is not discharged

before returning the scanner for service. The scanner must

always be returned with the warranty form (Address: see
