Configuring a GRE interface
General Routing Encapsulation (GRE) is a tunnelling protocol used for encapsulation of
other communication protocols inside point to point links over IP.

Creating a GRE connection using the web interface
To create GRE interfaces through the web interface, in the top menu, select Network -
>Interfaces.
There are three sections in the Interfaces page.
Section
Description
Interface Overview
Shows existing interfaces and their status. You can create new, and edit existing
interfaces here.
Port Map
In this section you can map device ports to Ethernet interfaces. Ports are marked
with capital letters starting with 'A'. Type in space separated port numbers in the
port map fields.
ATM Bridges
ATM bridges expose encapsulated Ethernet in AAL5 connections as virtual Linux
network interfaces, which can be used in conjunction with DHCP or PPP to dial
into the provider network.
In the Interface Overview section, click Add new interface. The Create Interface page
appears.
