8.4 SETTING THE TIME SIGNATURE
To select the time signature with which a song is to be recorded, press the [TIME-SIGN.] button
after recalling the sequencer Record mode; the display will show:
Use the encoder to select the Time Signature you require; the possible values are: 1/4, 2/4, 3/4, 4/4,
5/4, 7/4, 3/8, 6/8, 9/8 and 12/8.
Then press [ENTER/YES] to confirm the new value or [EXIT/NO] to abort it.
If you press the [TIME-SIGN.] button with the sequencer in Play mode, the system will inform you
about the Time Signature of the MIDI sequence currently loaded:
8.5 QUANTIZING THE MIDI EVENTS IN THE SONGS RECORDED
Quantizing is a very useful function since it allows small errors in the rhythm of a recording to be
corrected. Often, some notes may be played slightly before or after the correct moment.
This function allows the notes to be aligned to the closest beat inside the bar, also guaranteeing the
perfect synchronisation of the MIDI events on the various tracks.
One very useful feature of the quantizing function provided on the Concerto III’s sequencer is that
the user can set both the value of the beat within in the bar on which the notes will be positioned
and a given number of bars, so that it is not necessary to quantize the entire MIDI sequence.
To recall the function, after loading the song required with the sequencer, simply press the
[QUANTIZE] button and the display will show the setup video page.
