By default, the
VIDEO.FORMAT
field on the DuetD-2 decoder is set to
Source
. This means that the same source resolution being
encoded by the currently “tuned” DuetD-2 is passed through to the output. This is for cases where you are certain that the display
connected to the DuetD-2 can handle any of the source resolutions that it may be tuned to. If the connected display cannot show an
encoded resolution, set this field to a value that the display can decode. For example, if you are tuning a 4K encoded stream and are
using an HD display, set this value to 1080P60. The decoder will scale the tuned stream to 1080P60 and allow the display to show the
stream.

The Duet-2 series is capable of using HDMI, Analog, or Dante audio sources.
•
The DuetE-2 encoder uses the STREAM.AUDIO to select the source of audio sent over the AV over IP stream.
•
The DuetD-2 decoder uses the STREAM.AUDIO to select what audio is sent out the HDMI output.
STREAM.AUDIO=HDMI
DuetE-2 – STREAM.AUDIO = HDMI
1. Encoder receives HDMI or USB-C input with embedded audio. The audio must be available as LPCM for it to properly be sent as
Dante™.
2. Encoder converts LPCM to up to 2 Dante audio channels and makes them available as a transmit device on the Dante network.
3. Encoder takes embedded HDMI or USB-C audio (same as above) and encodes it into the AV over IP stream that includes video.
DuetD-2 – STREAM.AUDIO = HDMI
1. Decoder receives AV over IP stream with both audio and video and decodes it to the HDMI and USB-C output.
2. Decoder makes the decoded audio (up to 4 channels) available as a transmit device on the Dante™ network.
STREAM.AUDIO=DANTE
DuetE-2 - STREAM.AUDIO=DANTE
1. Encoder receives HDMI or USB-C input with embedded audio. The audio must be available as LPCM for it to properly be sent as
Dante™.
2. Encoder converts LPCM to up to 2 Dante audio channels and makes it available as a transmit device on the Dante™ network.
3. Encoder takes up to 4 channels of Dante™ audio selected via Dante™ Controller or other software and encodes it into the AV over
IP stream that includes video. This allows the insertion of Dante™ network audio into the AV stream so that decoders can access
the audio even if they are not Dante™ capable.
DuetD-2 - STREAM.AUDIO=DANTE
1. Decoder receives AV over IP stream with both audio and video and decodes just the video to the HDMI and USB-C output.
2. Decoder makes the decoded audio (up to 4 channels) available as a transmit device on the Dante™ network.
3. Decoder takes up to 4 channels of Dante™ audio selected via Dante™ Controller or other software and embeds it into the HDMI
and USB-C output as LPCM audio.
