However, if you use an extension, you

should take some precautions, such as:

 If using this machine outdoors, use

only suitable extension cords for

outdoor use. Using a proper extension

cord reduces de risk of electric shock;

 Use only extension cords with 3

cables, plugs and sockets with earth

connection;

 The extension cable section must be

proportional to the length and have

equal or higher characteristics to the

compressor’s power cord;

 Do not use damaged extension cords.

Check them before using and replace

if necessary;

 When it’s an extension cord reel, unroll

the entire cable;

 Always unplug the extension cord

before removing the equipment’s

power cable;

2.3 - BEFORE OPERATING

Make sure that this tool is only used

by who is familiar with the instruction

manual.

To ensure a safe operation, you must:

 Check the entire equipment before

using it. Check that all the accessories

are correctly assembled and attached

to the machine and in good conditions.

Never use damaged accessories;

 In a regular operation, the tool was

conceived to produce vibrations. Verify

if every fixing screw is well tightened.

It is important a regular inspection in a

way to ensure the safety questions and

the machine’s performance.

 Verify if there are any misalignments

in the moving parts or any condition

that may affect its normal operation. All

moving parts must spin softly, without

abnormal noises and sparks in the

brushes;

 Check if the safety devices are

in perfect conditions and working

correctly. Never use the machine if

any safety device is missing, inhibited,

damaged or worn;

 Ensure that the switch is off when you

plug in the power cable. If the switch is

damaged or does not allow controlling

the demolition hammer, it must be

repaired or replaced in a way to avoid

a sudden start.

Perform all the needed adjustments

and in case of doubts ask your

distributor for assistance.

2.4 - WHILE OPERATING

Keep other people away from

the working area. Never use the

tool if animals or people, particularly

children, are nearby.

Keep the working area clean, organized

and well illuminated (brightness from

250 to 300 lux), in order to reduce

the risk of accidents.

Always wear personal protective

equipment. Wearing safety goggles,

safety masks, ear protection, non-slip

safety footwear, long sleeve clothing,

gloves and helmet under proper

conditions reduces the risk of injuries.

The clothing worn while operating the

tool must be appropriate and tight,

such as a work coverall. Do not wear

loose clothing or jewellery. Keep hair,

clothing and gloves away from the

moving parts.

A massive load of vibrations may

damage nervous and circulatory

systems to whom have circulatory

problems. Inform your doctor if any

symptoms arise caused by vibration.

Among these symptoms, that occur

particularly on fingers, hands and

wrists, is also included loss of

sensation, pain, muscle weakness, skin

discoloration or tingling sensation.

While operating the machine, schedule

some time to rest and avoid using it

for long periods of time. Permanent

vibration is very harmful.

The control and safety devices installed

in the machine must not be removed or

inhibited.

To ensure a safe operation, you must:

 When using the machine, place

yourself in a stable position and well

balanced. Hold the equipment firmly

with both hands to ensure a continuous

operation and to withstand unexpected

situations, such as a kickback.

 Make sure that the ventilation openings

are not blocked while operating the

machine. Do not place any objects over

the grids.

 The tools (drills, point chisels, chisels)

and the insertion support may overheat

while operating. It might burn the user.

Wear protection gloves every time the

drilling tool is being replaced.

 Make sure that you don’t damage the

electrical circuits, gas and water pipes

when operating the equipment. Any

of these damages may cause fires,

explosions, electrical shocks or several

expensive losses.

 Avoid using the machine on surfaces

coated with paints containing lead or

other materials harmful to health. Any

contact or inhalation of dust may cause

allergic reactions and / or breathing

diseases. Wear a mask and work with

a dust extraction device if the machine

allows it.

 Materials containing asbestos cannot

be worked. Asbestos is carcinogenic.

2.5 - MAINTENANCE

AND CLEANING

Before cleaning, adjusting, repairing

and maintenance works, the power

cable must be unplugged.

Replace worn or damaged parts

immediately, so that the machine is

always in a safe operating condition.
