The user transmits: *IDN?;*OPT?<NL>
The user reads the 2553/ 2553E and receives the characters:
<SP>XITRON,2553/ 2553E,0,1.0,40A,1500V<NL>
This indicates that the product is manufactured by XITRON, is a 2553/ 2553E, the
firmware version is 1.0, and it contains options 40A and 1500V.
PRODUCT?
The 2553/ 2553E places an ASCII string describing the product into the Interrogative
Bank. This string contains one of the following ASCII strings, dependent on the option
content of the 2553/ 2553E.
2553/ 2553E/40A/950V
2553/ 2553E/8A/950V
2553/ 2553E/40A/1500V
2553/ 2553E/8A/1500V
2553/ 2553E/40A/400V
2553/ 2553E/8A/400V

This indicates that the product is a 2553/ 2553E, Option 40A option is fitted, and
Option 1500V is fitted. Note that the current and voltages contained in this data are
the nominal full-scale peak measurement abilities for the option content of this
2553/ 2553E.
VER?
The 2553/ 2553E places an ASCII string describing the version of firmware into the
Interrogative Bank. This string contains four digits, the first two digits describe the major
version, and the last two digits describe the minor version.

The user transmits: VER?<NL>
The user reads the 2553/ 2553E and receives the characters: <SP>0100<NL>
This indicates that the major firmware version is 01, and the minor firmware version
is 00.
