2801/2802 Power Analyzer User Guide
The user can interrogate the unit regarding the remote state of that particular
interface by using the REMOTE? interrogative, the response will be 0 if in
local, or 1 if in remote.
Resetting the Instrument
The entire instrument can be reset, as if the power was cycled at the front
panel, by using the *RST command.
Initializing an Interface
A specific interface can be initialized (clear any pending interrogative, clear
any defined measurement result responses etc.) by sending the *CLS
command. The IEEE488 interface user can also use the DCL or SDC bus
commands to perform this. The IEEE488 IFC bus command also performs
this but without clearing the measurement result responses.
Identifying the Instrument
The user can send the *IDN? interrogative via any interface. The response to
this is of the following format –
XITRON,2801,0,v2.00,v2.00,v1.01,v1.02,v1.02
Or
XITRON,2802,0,v2.00,v2.00,v1.01,v1.02,v1.02,v1.02
Similarly the user can send *OPT? or the PRODUCT? Interrogative
command from any interface, either of which simply returns “2801” or
“2802” as applicable.
The VER? Interrogative is also available on any interface, returning a string
such as –
Querying the Date or Time
The date and/or time can be read from the 2801/2 by the normal measurement
result process using the READ command, or the user can interrogate the
2801. The TIME? and/or DATE? Interrogatives can be used for this purpose.
The format of the responses to these are as defined by the prevailing date and
time format configurations in the SETUP SYSTEM menu.
