Appendix B - Measurement Specifications 149
Non-Harmonics
Made over the greater of 5ms or 1 cycle of input signal. Measurements are
made without intervening non-measurement periods of time between
measurements (except when making a range change or when making a
significant change to the sampling rate).
Harmonics
Made over the greater of 5ms or 4 cycles of input signal (2 cycles for
fundamental frequencies less than 5Hz).
All measurements are always measured, except for the harmonics results,
which are not measured when no fundamental component can be established
in the selected input signal and the user has selected no default frequency.
DC Input Offset Compensation
The user may select to use the present DC signals as compensation for future
DC measurements. This compensates for both internally and externally
generated DC offsets. This procedure typically takes less than 5 seconds.
Frequency Measurements
Made after applying an adaptive 6-pole bandpass filter to the selected signal.
A minimum input level of 5% of range is required. The accuracy of frequency
measurements is 0.005%.
Harmonic Analysis
A variable length DFT is performed on the input samples with a length of
between 768 and 2048 samples per DFT period. Input samples are decimated
and anti-aliased as needed. Each harmonic from the fundamental up to the
lower of the 100
th
or having a frequency of 70kHz is measured.
