Installing the RAPTAIR MF
3.1
Mounting the Diesel Drive Compressor
System
Locate a suitable mounting position for the RAPTAIR MF. Place
the unit and check for clearances to any other objects.
Determine suitable mounting bolt locations. There are holes
predrilled in the mounting plates of the unit, but new holes can
be drilled in any locations on these plates except where the
vibration isolation mounts are located. Ensure there is a
minimum of 4 bolts securing the unit (2 on each mount plate).
Drill holes and secure the RAPTAIR MF to the truck. Use a
minimum of 4 (2 in each plate) 1/2" (12 mm) bolts. Use bolts,
washers and locknuts or Loctite.
Connect a ground wire to the ground terminal found on the
bottom of the generator side of the unit (beside the air outlet).
Ensure this is connected to the vehicle, or sufficient ground point
for safe operation. Consult with a certified electrician for safe
grounding points if unsure.
Failure to connect sufficient electrical ground could
cause severe injury or death. Ensure electrical
connections are made in accordance with electrical
guidelines in the operation jurisdiction.
Remove the #12 cap from the air outlet, found on the bottom of
the generator side of the unit. Connect to the air delivery system.
3.1.1
Optional PTO Equipment Installation
Ensure PTO equipment falls within power guidelines at
2700 RPM and is rated to a minimum of 2700 RPM.
To install PTO equipment, remove the small service hatch on the
exhaust-side panel.
