Getting Started with VMware Fusion

To quit a virtual machine
Select a method to quit the virtual machine.
Select
Virtual Machine > Suspend
to save the current state of your
virtual machine, including all running applications, so you can return to
this state without restarting the operating system in your virtual
machine.
Select
Virtual Machine > Shut Down
to completely shut down the
operating system and the virtual machine.
