DATA FILER
As the screen shows, the
Recording Song
field warns the user that the Genius is recording
the data, the
Tempo
field indicates the metronome tempo with which the song is being
recorded, and the
Meas.
and
Beat
fields display the bar number reached and the beat
scan.
During recording, the [PAUSE] key can be pressed to suspend the procedure; it can then be
restarted from the point where it was interrupted by pressing the same key or the [PLAY] key.
The LED of the [PAUSE] key illuminates to indicate that the system is in pause condition.
Pressing the [STOP] button terminates the recording phase.
7.3 SAVING THE RECORDING
At the end of the recording, the system asks whether or not the user wishes to memorise the
song just created: the display will therefore show:
As the display indicates, if [ENTER] is pressed the recording will be acquired, while if the
user presses [ESC] all the recorded data will be deleted and the display will again show the
MAIN PAGE. If no data have been received during the recording the Finalize prompt will not
be displayed and the system will return straight to the MAIN PAGE.
Pressing [ENTER] confirms the procedure, and the system then prompts assignment of the
name to the new song (*.MID file name):

NOTE:
if the file has been saved in the internal memory, it will be placed at
the end of the list of files already present.
To specify the name of the new file, use the [PREV.] and [NEXT] buttons to move the cursor
backwards or forwards respectively. The encoder can also be used to enter the characters to
be used to form the name of the file, bearing in mind that no spaces are permitted. Then use
the SOURCE section buttons to select the memory unit where the song is to be saved, ([DISK]
or [MEMORY]). Remember that the [DISK] key will not be active if the floppy disk is not inserted
or not formatted. Then press [ENTER] to save or [ESC] to abort.
