The preselected field, next to the [F2] function key, allows you to use the encoder to select the
memory until about which you require information. The display parameters are:

Total
: displays the amount of user memory installed in the unit or the capacity of the
disk inserted.
o
Busy
: indicates the amount of memory occupied.
o
Free
: displays the amount of memory still available.
o
Files N
: indicates the number of files in the selected memory unit.
To exit from this function, press the [ESC] key and the display will return to the main page of
the TOOLS section, DISK option.
8.1.7 ERROR MESSAGES – DISK SECTION
DISK ERROR – LOW FORMAT
The error occurs during formatting operations if the capacity of the disk inserted is not as
selected. The error is also displayed if the floppy disk contains serious errors in its magnetic
medium.
IMPORTANT NOTE

If there is no floppy disk in the drive or the disk inserted is not recognised, the data
relating to this peripheral will be set with the value 0K.

The data relating to the total capacity of the floppy disk are displayed as a real value
calculated with a multiplication factor of 1KByte = 1024 Bytes. Therefore:
1) A 720KByte floppy disk formatted in MS-DOS® actually contains 730,112
Bytes, or 713KBytes.
2) A 1.44MByte floppy disk formatted in MS-DOS® has a real capacity of
1.38MBytes.

The data relating to the total internal memory differ from that installed by the space
occupied by the operating system (about 700KBytes).
