8.3.2 IN FILTER
The IN FILTER function is provided to filter specific MIDI messages reaching the MIDI IN port
(if any) connected to the JOY PORT.
The filters are of global type, meaning that they act on all the MIDI channels for the type of
message assigned to them.
From the MIDI section menu, select the IN FILTER function using the [F2] function key; the
display will show:
147
You can use the fields in this video page, selectable using the function keys associated to
them, to set the behaviour of the filters. Using the encoder, you can modify their status in
accordance with the following rule:
ü
Filter ON: the type of message to which the filter refers is filtered, meaning that these
messages will be ignored by the system.
ü
Filter OFF: the type of message is not filtered, so these messages are interpreted by the
instrument.
The types of message to which the filter can be applied are the following:
o
Note
: selectable by means of the [F2] function key – enables/disables the filter on the
note incoming messages (Note On and Note Off).
o
PRG
: [F3] – enables/disables the filter on the incoming Program Changes (timbre
definition).
o
CC
: [F4] – enables/disables the filter on the incoming Control Changes (control messages).
o
Sys-Ex
: [F5] – enables/disables the filter on the System Exclusive Messages (used as
setup data) received.
o
R.T.
: [F6] – enables/disables the filter on the Real Time (synchronisation) messages.
After making the desired settings, press the [ESC] key and the modifications made will be
saved automatically. On exit from the function, the current song will be reloaded.
