CAUTION!!
Never switch the instrument off during Memory Compact operations. In this case, all
the contents of the internal memory, including the operating system, will be lost
irretrievably.
8.5 THE TRACK INFO FUNCTION
The TRACK INFO function allows the user to obtain the main parameters for each individual
track in the song being played.
One important feature of this function is that it can be recalled in real time. By pressing the
[PART INFO] key in the TOOLS section, the function can also be made active both in instrument
STOP status and in PLAY status, i.e. during performance of a song.
When this is done, the display will show the video page:
containing the following fields:
o
Track
: this field allows the user, by means of the encoder, to select the track (MIDI
channel) for which the information is to be displayed.
o
Prg
: displays the number of the Program Change active and the number of the associated
timbre in accordance with the General MIDI standard on the selected track.
o
Volume
: displays the current value of the track volume.
o
Pan
: displays the Pan-Pot value.
o
Rv
: displays the level of the reverb effect.
o
Ch
: displays the level of the Chorus effect.
As we now know, the Genius implements a Direct-to-Disk reading system which reads the
data during playback. It is therefore obvious that the data may vary (e.g. the Volume) during
the Play. Also note that in the Stop position this function will only display the data relating to
the first line of the selected song. The value
---
indicates that the value is not defined in
accordance with the standard commands (it might be set by means of exclusive system
messages).
When the [ESC] key or the [PART INFO] key is pressed, the display will return to the MAIN
PAGE.
