9.2.1 EDIT TRACK – PROGRAM CHANGE & BANK SELECT
The PRG & BANK function allows you to assign a Program Change, and therefore a timbre,
and the values of the Bank Select Control Changes MSB (CC 0) and SLB (CC 32), which
can be used to select further timbres assigned to the same Program Change, to a specific
track.
Refer to the appendix to this manual for details of the Bank Select and Program Change
codes for selection of the timbre desired.
From the EDIT TRACK menu, press the [F1] function key; the display will show the first of the
two video pages relating to the function concerned:
164
containing the following programming parameters, which can be modified using the encoder
and selected using the function keys described below:
o
Track
: selectable using the [F2] function key – allows the user to specify the track in
which the Program Change is to be modified.
o
StartMsr
: [F3] – identifies the number of the first bar from which the Program Change
is to be modified.
o
EndMsr
: [F4] – identifies the number of the last bar in which the modification is to be
eliminated.
o
PRG
: [F4] – sets the number of the Program Change which is to replace the one currently
in use in the track concerned.
o
PIANO 1
(in the example illustrated): field for display only next to the [F6] function key,
indicates the timbre associated to the Program Change selected by means of the
PRG
parameter.
N.B.: the association does not consider the Bank Select codes.
Bear in mind that if the Start Measure and End Measure values are identical, the Genius will
leave the track unchanged (no modification to the track marker). In this condition, the field in
line with the [F6] button shows the message
(unmodified)
. Use this method to abort
any modifications made before saving.
Use the function keys and the encoder to select the values desired: you can listen to the effect
of the modifications by means of the temporary Play function recalled by pressing the [PLAY]
button.
