DATA FILER
From the above menu, press the [F2] function key, assigned to the
VOL & PAN
field; the
display will show the first video page of the function, relating to the volume control:
featuring the following parameters which can be selected using the function keys and modified
using the encoder:
o
Track
: selectable using the [F2] function key – allows the user to specify the track to
which the changes in volume are to apply.
o
StartMsr
: [F3] – identifies the number of the first bar from which the volume is to be
varied.
o
EndMsr
: [F4] – identifies the number of the last bar in which the volume is to be varied.
o
Ratio
: [F5] – sets the relative percentage variation for the volume level in the track in
question within the selected range of bars.
In order to maintain the variations in volume originally set in the song, the Genius applies the
rule of relative editing, which involves a percentage rescaling of the data in the track. Since
the editing takes place in relation to the original value, if the Ratio value is set at 100% then
the new value will be equal to 100% of the existing value, while a setting of 200% will double
it. If the permitted values are exceeded the maximum and minimum values will be forced.
Here again, since the function is displayed on two pages, the LED of the [NEXT] key in the
PAGE section will be illuminated, indicating the presence of another page. To confirm the
modification of the volume and return to display of the EDIT TRACK menu, press the [ENTER]
key. Otherwise, to abort the modifications, press the [ESC] key.
The second page of the VOL & PAN function will be the following:
As can be seen, the two video pages in the section are virtually identical.
You should therefore refer to the procedures already described for modification of the volume,
bearing in mind that the control modified here relates to the Pan-Pot.
