Procedures for Gear Changing in the Automatic Gearbox
Press the lever button to set it in any position. Never proceed with changing
gears without pressing it.
R - To change gears from 1, 2, D, OD to the R gear, or vice versa, completely
stop the vehicle. Move the PARE (STOP) lever in position (N), and only after
this, select the chosen gear.
D/OD – As the engine speed increases, the transmission realizes an automatic
increase, or vice versa.
IMPORTANT:
• With the lever set in this position, during descent movements, the
transmission may realize increasing gear changes, reducing the engine brake
activation.
• Be careful during descent movements: reduce the engine speed selecting
a combination of decreasing gears (Position 2 and 1), avoiding possible
accidents.
PRECAUTIONS WITH THE AUTOMATIC GEARBOX
Proceed in accordance with the items below every time when the engine is in
function and the driver is not at the driver’s seat, by reason of checking and/
or maintenance of some item in the transmission box or because of any other
reason.
• Stop the vehicle by means of the brake;
of heating and cooling that occur in the transmission in service.
Oil Drainage
It is very important to drain the transmission when the oil is hot. To this end,
remove the magnetic plug (2) under the frame. After the completed drainage,
clean and reinstall it.

gear changings.

select the adequate moment to change low or
high gears in traffic conditions.
The 2100 series transmissions perform selection whenever necessary.
