At very low currents, the conductor
can be coiled several times around a
shank of the current probe to increase
the overall measuring current. Then
divide the measured current value by
the number of coils around the
current probe. You will then receive
the correct current value.
Proceed as follows to measure direct currents (A ):
- Switch on the DMM. The automatic current measuring range is active at all times.
- “A” and the symbol for direct current “DC” or the symbol for alternating current
“AC” now appear in the display.
- Due to the high sensitivity and the ambient magnetic field (e.g. magnetic field of the
earth, etc.), a low current value is always displayed with the current probe closed.
The display must be manually set to zero right before each measurement or when
the current cable is replaced.
Conduct a zero reconciliation without conductor and with the current probe
closed. For this, push the button “V” for approx. 2 seconds to activate the
“ZERO” function. A beep confirms zero reconciliation. The display will set to zero
and the “Delta” – triangular Symbol – appears. To deactivate the DC-zero
adjustment, hold the key “V” pressed for ca. 2 seconds. The delta-symbol
disappears.
- Push the current probe opening
lever (5) and open the current
probe this way.
- Observe the correct polarity of
the current probe for the direct
current measurement. When
connected correctly, the cable
must be routed to the consumer
through the current probe from
the front when coming from the
power source (+).
- Reach around the individual
conductor to be measured and
close the current probe again.
Position the conductor centrally
with the opening at the probe.
