Proceed as follows to measure alternating currents (A ):
- Switch on the DMM. The
automatic current measuring
range “AUTO” is active at all
times.
- “A” and the symbol for direct
current “DC” or the symbol for
alternating current “AC” now
appear in the display.
- Push the current probe opening
lever (5) and open the current
probe this way.
- Reach around the individual
conductor to be measured and
close the current probe again.
Position the conductor centrally
with the opening at the probe.
- The measured value is displayed together with the current type symbol “AC”.
- Remove the current probe from the object to be measured after completion of
the measurement and switch off the device.
Manual selection of the current type “AC”:
In some situations, it is necessary to select the current type manually. This may be
required if direct current shares are present.
- Switch on the DMM. The automatic current measuring range “AUTO” is active at
all times.
- To manually set the current type to “AC”, push the button “A” once. Every push
is confirmed with a beep. “AC” appears in the display. The symbol “AUTO” goes
out.
- Perform the measurement as described before.
- To reactivate the AUTO function, keep the “A” button pushed for approx. 2 sec-
onds. A beep confirms the input and “AUTO” appears in the display.
