n) Alternating voltage measurement with low-pass filter “LPF”
The DMM can filter out fault signals above 1 kHz via the measuring function “LPF” that may be overlaid at the measur-
ing signal. These fault signals may cause wrong measurements. The DMM filters these out and can then measure the
pure voltage signal. The following figure shows the function principle:
Proceed as follows to measure alternating voltages with the LPF function:
- Turn the DMM on and select measuring function
“V ”. The display shows “AC” and the unit “V”.
- Push the “SELECT” button to activate the low-pass filter.
The display shows the LPF symbol. Auto-range is deac-
tivated. The measurement ranges can, however, be cho-
sen manually via the button “RANGE”.
- Plug the red measuring line into the V measuring jack (E)
and the black measuring line into the COM measuring
jack (D).
- Connect the two measuring prods to the object to be
measured in parallel (generator, circuit, etc.).
- The voltage measured value is displayed in the main dis-
play and the frequency in the small subdisplay.
- Remove the measuring lines from the object to be meas-
ured after completion of the measurement and switch off
the DMM.
10. Additional Functions
The function buttons (G) can be used to activate various additional
functions. With the push of the button, an acoustic signal is output for
confirmation.
a) SELECT Function
Several measuring functions are assigned subfunctions. The subfunctions are marked red. Push “SELECT” to select
them. Every push will switch to the next subfunction.
