h) Battery test
Input voltage should not exceed 30 Vrms. Higher voltages may damage the meter.
If the 400 mA fuse is blown, the internal load resistance of the meter will be open, the
battery voltage can still be measured, but the measured voltage is the end voltage of
the battery without load. To judge the battery power accurately, replace with a new
fuse and take the measurement again.
1. Set the function dial to 1.5V BATT

/ 9V BATT / 12V BATT, “BATT” will show on the display.
2. Connect the test leads to the terminals:
- Red test lead to the

- Black test lead to the COM terminal.
3. Connect the the test leads to the battery as fol-
lows:
- Red test lead probe to battery (+)
- Black test lead probe to battery (-).
If the contacts are reversed, reversed
voltage will be produced.
4. Read the value on the display.
5. When finished measuring, disconnect the test
leads and switch the DMM power OFF.
