f) Capacity measurement
Make sure all circuit parts, circuits, components, and other objects of measurement
are disconnected from the voltage supply and fully discharged.
Always observe polarity with electrolyte capacitors.
1. Set the function dial to
.
2. Short press the SEL button 1x to select capacity
measurement, “nF” unit or capacitance will show
on the display.
3. Connect the test leads to the terminals:
- Red test lead to the
terminal.
- Black test lead to the COM terminal.
4. Connect the test lead probes to the correct test
points on the capacitor.
- Always observe the polarity with electrolyte
capacitors.
- “OL” will appear on the display if the polarity is
reversed or if the circuit is shorted.
- Wait until the displayed value has stabilized.
This may take a few seconds for capacities
>40 µF.
5. When finished measuring, disconnect the test leads and switch the power OFF.
