Explanation of symbols

The symbol with the lightning in the

triangle is used if there is a risk to your

health, e.g. due to an electric shock.

The symbol with the exclamation mark

in the triangle is used to indicate impor-

tant information in these operating in-

structions. Always read this information

carefully.

Safety information

Read the operating instructions

carefully and observe in particular

the safety instructions. If you do not

follow the safety information and in-

formation on proper handling in

these operating instructions, we will

assume no liability for any resulting

personal injury or damage to prop-

erty. Such cases will invalidate the

warranty/guarantee.

a) Persons / product

•  The product is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach

of children and pets.

•  Do not leave packaging material lying around

carelessly. It may become a dangerous toy for

children.

•  Protect the product from extreme temperatures,

direct sunlight, strong jolts, high humidity, mois-

ture, flammable gases, vapours and solvents.

•  Do not place the product under any mechani-

cal stress.

•  If it is no longer possible to operate the product

safely, stop using it and prevent unauthorised

use. Safe operation can no longer be guaran-

teed if the product:

 - is visibly damaged,
 - is no longer working properly,
 - has been stored for extended periods in poor

ambient conditions or

 - has been subjected to any serious  transport-

related stresses.

•  Handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or

a fall even from a low height may damage the

product.

•  Always observe the safety information and oper-

ating instructions of any other devices which are

connected to the product.

•  Never leave the product and the connected de-

vice unattended during use.

•  In commercial institutions, the accident preven-

tion regulations of the Employer’s Liability In-

surance Association for Electrical Systems and

Operating Facilities are to be observed!

•  Keep the included small parts away from chil-

dren and pets to prevent accidental swallowing.

•  Never use the product immediately after it has

been brought from a cold room into a warm one.

The condensation that forms may destroy the

product. The power adapter may also cause a

fatal electric shock! Allow the product to reach

room temperature before connecting it and put-

ting it into use. This may take several hours.

•  Never pour liquids over electrical devices or

place objects filled with liquid next to the device.

If liquid or a foreign object enters the interior of

the  device  nevertheless,  first  power  down  the

respective mains socket (e.g. switch off the cir-

cuit breaker) and then pull the mains plug from

the mains socket. Do not operate the product

any more afterwards, but take it to a specialist

workshop.

•  Remove the product from the mains socket and

the connected device when you are not using it.

•  The product generates heat during use. Ensure

sufficient ventilation and never cover the product

during use.

•  The mains socket that the device is plugged into

must be easily accessible.

•  Only connect the power adapter to a normal

mains socket connected to the public supply.

Before plugging in the power adapter, check

whether the voltage stated on the power adapter

complies with the voltage of your electricity sup-

plier.

•  Never connect or disconnect power adapters if

your hands are wet.

•  Never unplug the power adapter from the mains

socket by pulling on the cable; always use the

grips on the plug.

•  When setting up the product, make sure that the

cables are not pinched, kinked or damaged by

sharp edges.

•  Always lay the cables so that nobody can trip

over or become entangled in them. This poses

a risk of injury.

•  For safety reasons, disconnect the power adapt-

er from the mains socket during storms.

•  Do not touch the power adapter if there are

any signs of damage, as this may cause a fa-

tal electric shock! Switch off the mains voltage

to the socket containing the power adapter

(switch off the corresponding circuit breaker or

remove the safety fuse, and then switch off the

corresponding RCD protective switch). You can

then unplug the power adapter from the mains

socket. Dispose of the faulty power adapter in

an environmentally friendly manner and discon-

tinue its use.

b) Miscellaneous

•  Consult a technician if you are not sure how to

use or connect the product, or if you have con-

cerns about safety.

•

Maintenance, modifications and repairs must be

carried out by a technician or a specialist repair

centre.

•  If you are not sure about the correct connection

or use, or if questions arise which are not cov-

ered by these operating instructions, please do

not hesitate to contact our technical support or

another qualified specialist.

Operation

The output voltage of the power adapter must match the input voltage of the connected electrical

device.

1.  Connect the output plug to the switched off device. The inner contact is positive

(+)

 and the outer contact

is negative

(–)

.

2.  Connect the mains plug to a standard household mains socket (100 – 240 V/AC, 50/60 Hz). The LED on

top of the power adapter indicates operational readiness.

3.  Now, switch on the connected device. If it does not work properly, turn it off immediately and disconnect

it from the power adapter.

4.  Disconnect the power adapter from the mains voltage as soon as you are no longer using it.

Maintenance and cleaning

•  Disconnect the power adapter from the mains voltage and from the connected device before cleaning.
•  Clean the housing of the power adapter with a dry, soft cloth.
•  Do not use abrasives or solvents.
