13. CHARGE STATUS DISPLAY FOR THE EXTERNAL
RECHARGEABLE BATTERY
If a vehicle battery is connected to the quick-start system with the alligator clamps in the right polarity, the LED (3)
will light up green. At a vehicle battery voltage in excess of 8.5 V, the display (4) will come on and show the charge
condition of the external rechargeable battery as follows on the left:
Figure 3
„Battery OK“
Vehicle battery is full or only slightly discharged; jump-starting using the quick-start system is possible
„Battery Low“
Vehicle battery strongly discharged; jump-starting by quick-start system may be possible depending on the technical
condition of the vehicle
„Battery Dead“
The vehicle battery is deep-discharged or defective; jump starting is usually no longer possible. In this case, you
need to remove the vehicle battery, charge it with a suitable charger and then check for performance capacity.
If the voltage of the vehicle battery has dropped below 8.5 V, the display (4) will no longer switch on automati-
cally and thus does not display the charge conditions of the internal and external rechargeable battery. In this
case, push the button to display the charge condition (7).
The percentage displayed for this measurement (e.g. 95% - see figure 3) does not show the charge condition
of the connected vehicle battery, but the charge condition of the internal rechargeable battery of the quick-
start system.
