Class C >25W
Uses the limits described in Chapter 2.
Note that for this test, the fundamental input current and power factor must
be known and entered in to the test detail dialogue since these values are
used to calculate the limits. The analyzer automatically measures
fundamental input current and power factor in accordance with the required
measurement methods and displays the result. The measured fundamental
input current and power factor can then be entered retrospectively and the
limits re-computed.
Class C less or equal to 25 W
There are 2 possible limits that may be applied:
1. The Class D limits.
OR
2. The limits below as long as the current waveform meets certain criteria
for its shape. Note that these criteria are completely different to the
waveform shape checking used for Class D in a previous edition of the
standard.
'The waveform shall be such that it begins to flow before or at 60 degrees,
has its last peak (if there are several peaks per half period) before or at 65
degrees and does not stop flowing before 90 degrees, where the zero
crossing of the fundamental supply voltage is assumed to be at 0 degrees.'
The IEC software contains sophisticated proprietary algorithms to
automatically check the waveform accordingly.
See the 'Waveform check' operating instructions below.
