Both the drive shift mechanism and the engine speed
control are operated using the lever

engine runs at idle speed).

Drive forward gear engaged for forward move-
ment.
R
Drive reverse gear engaged for backward move-
ment.
T
Throttle/engine speed control.
NOTICE!
Shift mechanism must be in Neutral to start
engine.
Neutral Interlock Button
The neutral interlock button

, available on the side-
mount control only, prevents accidentally moving the
throttle out of neutral. This button must be depressed
to shift the throttle out of neutral.
To move the control lever away from neutral, depress
the neutral interlock button

.
While keeping the button pressed, move control han-
dle out of neutral in the desired direction.
Once the throttle is out of the neutral position, you may
release the button.
The neutral interlock will automatically re-engage
when the control handle is returned to the NEUTRAL
position.
