Operating the Humidifier
Step 1
With the fan power switch in the OFF position, plug the
power cord into a standard 110-120 volt AC wall outlet.
Step 2
For models with a humidistat, turn the control full clockwise
to the MAX postition (maximum humidity level).
Step 3
To turn the unit on, rotate the fan power speed knob clockwise.
The power indicator light will illuminate. Select a fan speed
for the desired humidification. Use these general guidelines
for operation:
HIGH
for fast humidification or larger rooms. High
speed operation will evaporate 4.2 gallons of water
(+/- 5%) in 24 hours of continuous operation in the type
40 unit, 2.8 gallons (+/- 5%) in the type 30 unit.
(This assumes room conditions of 75˚ F and 30%
relative humidity.)
MEDIUM
for normal operation.
LOW
for quiet, nighttime operation or smaller rooms.
On this speed, your Vornado humidifier may run
continuously without refilling for extended periods.
Step 4
When the room has reached the desired humidity level,
lower the humidistat slowly (counter-clockwise) until the fan
stops. The unit will automatically restart when the humidity
falls below this setting. Power light will stay lit even when
fan has stopped.
Note: With the humidistat on the MAX setting, your Vornado humidifier
will run continuously. With the humidistat completely on the MIN setting,
the unit will not operate.

Filling & Installing the
Patented Water Bottle(s)
The visible water level on the bottle(s) will indicate when refilling
is necessary. When it needs refilling, follow these simple
instructions:
Be sure the unit is placed on a firm, flat and level surface,
preferably the floor. As with any humidifier, spills can occur so
be careful when filling and installing the water bottle(s) and
cleaning or moving it.
Filling the Water Bottle(s)
The patented rugged water bottle(s)
have no caps; no valves, and fit
in most kitchen sinks. Fill the water
bottle(s) by running cool tap water
into the spout. The built-in, wide-
mouth spout and funnel makes
filling easy under most faucets.
Each water bottle is designed to
allow it to sit stable in the sink or
on a counter top.
Installing the Water Bottle(s)
Place the filled water bottle(s)
next to the base with the groove
in the water bottle(s) resting on the
the curved edge of the base cavity.
Simply rotate the water bottle(s)
into position by tilting the water
bottle(s) up. The water bottle(s)
will begin to dispense water into
the base reservoir just before it
nests into its upright position.
Proper water level in the base
is continuously maintained.
Bottle(s) must be in place for
unit to work correctly.
