6. Twist the Emergency Switch knob to release and extend the knob.
Do not wipe as this might scratch the lenses or push the debris into the hole.
5.6.2 Verify Communication between Control Unit and Computer
If an item is not detected in the tunnel, there might be a loss of communication between the
Control Unit and the Computer. The Control Unit is a circuit board between the Computer and
the detectors and is connected to the Computer via a serial cable. If there is a loss of
communication, the lights on the Control Unit do flash. The software will still run, but there will be
an error when connecting to the detectors.
If the software cannot start and displays “Communication problem with the Detectors”:
1. Log in as a VOTI-Trained Technician using the Administrator permission to access the
Windows desktop.
2. Select
Start > Settings > Network Connections
.
a) Check the status of the Connection.
b) Check the IP Address is 192.168.1.22 in the
Properties
.
3. Check the IP Address is 192.168.1.2 in the configuration file,
BioSans.cfg
.
Open the configuration file in a text editor (for example, Notepad). The configuration file is
located at
c:\Program Files\VOTI\BioSansXDAQ\cfg\
.
# Detector settings
string detectorIPAddress = 192.168.1.2
4. If unable to connect, check the Ethernet cable connection between the Detector Control Unit
Board and the Computer.
a) Open the Top Left Access Panel.
b) Remove the 2 screws securing the Computer cover and remove the cover.
