Select either
Enable
to activate Auto Connection or
Disable
to deactivate the Auto connection option. When
Auto Connection is enabled, the Controller will establish a
PPPoE session automatically, regardless of subscriber
activity. By default, the Controller sets
Enabled
as the
value for Auto Connection.

Select the Auto Disconnection duration in minutes from
the drop down list here. Auto Disconnection will close the
PPPoE session if there is no user activity. By default, the
Controller selects
5 Minutes
as duration.
Subscriber Bandwidth Limit
Bandwidth control is one of the most important factors in providing consistent service to
subscribers. Subscribers demand for bandwidth is unlimited, especially because of file
sharing. One or two subscribers can easily consume all of the available connection, even 10
or 20Mbps, leaving little or none for dozens of other subscribers. The resulting bottleneck
may be described as slowness or DHCP problems or login problems or problems accessing
specific web pages. Fortunately, the Gateway Controller provides numerous options to make
sure every subscriber has a fair share of the available connection.
Dynamic Bandwidth Management
Available bandwidth is evenly distributed among
all the logged in users. The accurate available bandwidth on the
WAN port must be entered under Link Properties. Bandwidth is
allocated based on active requests, so it is possible for a single
user to utilize a large proportion of the available bandwidth if
other users are idle. As soon as those users are active the
bandwidth will be balanced again. Per user bandwidth limits still
apply if assigned to local, RADIUS, or PMS logins. User
connections will not exceed the dynamic limit unless Networks -
WAN/LAN - Subscriber Bandwidth Limit - User Account Limits
Can Exceed Dynamic Limit is enabled.
User Account Bandwidth Profiles
To Control bandwidth usage by user account the
Gateway Controller allows 14 bandwidth profiles ranging from
16Kbps to 8Mbps. By default, these profiles are
Asymmetrical
