To find the subscriber, open the log for this site that corresponds to the date of the timestamp.
Search for the Infringers IP Address and Port ID. The “Infringers IP address” will almost
always be the Controller IP. There will be an open or close record for the connection on this
port close to this time. In some cases the connection might have been opened in the previous
log. In the matching record you will see the subscriber’s username, if any, and MAC Address.
From this information you can determine if this is one of your current subscribers, an
employee, or a guest user. When you use VLAN IDs per room in a hotel, dorm, or apartment
complex, you would have the room number. If the copyright holder demanded the identity
of the subscriber, you would have it from the room number or MAC address.
CALEA Compliance
A law enforcement CALEA request will generally be specific to a particular subscriber. In this
case you could provide them with all the logs for the dates they require, or just the portion
of the logs that pertain to the room, individual, IP, or MAC address they request.
VP Networks Hosted User Reports
VP Networks offers a low cost per site service to collect and store all of the usage information
from each site using a Gateway Controller. In addition to easy central access and storage of
all user logins and activity it also includes filtering and export tools to generate customer
reports.

This menu allows the user to configure the Access Point Monitor, which will facilitate
management of your public access network. The Controller will track the status,
online or offline, of these devices, and allow access to their management interfaces
through NAT for remote access. You can also use this table to establish port mapping
to any LAN address.
