From the large number of available flow sensors, we have made a selection with which the
necessary measuring range for the turbines used in model building can best be covered.
The flow sensors available from us all look the same on the outside, but differ in nozzle size
and number of pulses per 1000 ml. The following table contains extracts from the data sheets
of the flow sensors:

Our recommendation:
FLOW-meter 1.0
for turbines up to 180N
FLOW-meter 1.6
for turbines up to 300N
FLOW-meter 3.0
for turbines with an integrated pump or > 300N
Whenever possible, the flow sensor should be arranged as follows:
Pump -> Filter -> FLOW-meter -> (Valves) -> Turbine
In the case of turbines with an integrated pump, the next larger flow sensor with the larger
nozzle should be selected if possible in order to keep the resistance in the suction line as low as
possible. Festo screw nipples should also be used here instead of Festo push-in fittings, since
the latter are not so well suited for suction operation
The decisive factor for the accuracy of the FLOW-meter is how exactly the impulses / 1000 ml
are determined and stored as parameters in the FLOW-meter. Since a variety of factors, such
as The tubing and installation position play a role,
it is in any case necessary to
adjust the number of pulses in the final installation location

achieve the specified accuracy of +/- 2%. For this purpose, the FLOW-meter has a calibration
option, see section 2.0.3.
The flow sensor can be installed in any
position - but the direction of flow must be
observed.
The flow sensor can be mounted to a frame or mounting plate using the screws included in the
scope of delivery, using the holes provided on the underside of the flow sensor.
The FLOW-meter can be attached using Velcro tape, double-sided adhesive tape, cable ties or
similar.
