Calibration
The accuracy of the FLOW-meter depends on the accuracy of the Impulse / 1000ml
parameter
. Information on this can be found in the flow sensor data sheets of the respective
manufacturer, but these are often to be understood as a "guideline value", can vary both within
a production batch, as well as from the medium and the respective installation position.
Therefore a calibration is absolutely perform.
Notes for performing the calibration:
In the case of turbine models, connect a hose to the outlet of the flow sensor and feed it
directly into a measuring cup. Now with most turbine ECUs, the pump test mode can be
activated and the desired amount of fuel can be fed into the measuring cup by the flow
sensor.
It should be calibrated at medium pump output.
Instead of a measuring cylinder / measuring cup, a scale can of course also be used for
the calibration - taking into account the density of the respective fuel for the conversion
ml -> gram (..., e.g. 1000ml kerosene = 800gram)
The calibration can be done in different ways:
2.0.3.1
Auto calibration 1000ml
With a long press (> 2 seconds) the auto calibration mode is activated, signaled by
green LED ON and blue LED OFF (FUEL and FLOW values do not change during the
calibration mode).
Now the FLOW-meter pumps exactly 1000ml into a measuring beaker, the flow is signaled by
the flashing red LED.
The calibration mode is ended by pressing the button again. The FLOW-meter works again in
normal operation, indicated by the blue LED flashing every second.
2.0.3.2
Calibration – arithmetic
Set the display of fuel to "consumed" (in the delivery state) and the FUEL display to 0ml.
Pump any sufficient amount of fuel through the flow sensor into a measuring cup.
The new parameter Impulse / 1000ml is now as follows:
display FUEL (ml)
Impulse/1000ml (new) = -------------------------------------- * Impulse/1000ml (until now)
level measuring cup (ml)
2.0.3.3
Calibration – live
With the Jeti, HoTT and PowerBox systems, you can carry out the calibration for any
sufficiently large fuel rate "live".
Set the fuel display to "consumed" (in the delivery state) and the FUEL display to 0 ml.
While you are pumping, you can synchronize Pulses / 1000ml display in the FLOW-meter to
the measuring cup by adjusting the parameter.
