Chapter 6
Analysis and Elimination of Possible Causes of the
Fault
Fault phenomenon: No action is generated from alarm bell and
acousto-optic alarm apparatus when the system reports a fire
alarm.
Handling methods and possible causes:
a.
Please check whether the far sound indicator light on the panel has been lit.
b.
Whether there is fault information about that alarm bell or acousto-optic alarm apparatus
on the host.
c.
Whether there is 24V power on the site of alarm bell or acousto-optic alarm apparatus.
d.
Whether the control module type of the alarm bell is set as far sound or acousto-optic
alarm apparatus;
e.
Whether there is output of far sound/acousto-optic alarm apparatus in linkage setup.
Fault phenomenon: No request action is generated from the
device when the system reports a fire alarm.
Handling methods and possible causes:
a.
Please check whether the automatic/manual indicator light on the panel is on.
b.
Whether there is linkage setup data in linkage setup or the "register" item in linkage data
is not checked.
Fault phenomenon: After reporting a fire alarm, there is a device
requesting for action but no action from the field device is
shown.
The device's feedback signal needs to return through a control-monitoring module. Possible
causes:
a.
The field device is not under auto mode; therefore, it cannot be controlled by the module
and it fails to start.
b.
The device has started but the feedback signal line falls off.
C. The field device is not connected to the power supply.
Fault phenomenon: The host reports faults of main power and
backup power at the same time.
Handling methods and possible causes:
a. Whether the main power feedback cable of the host is well connected
b. Main power breaks down and backup power is in under-voltage condition.
Fault phenomenon: The printer prints messy code at the time of
alarm.
The host of VST-3010W series can set multiple printer types and their communication
parameters. Possible causes:
a.
The printer type set is not consistent with that of equipped printer. It is the thermal printer
when set as "SPRT-02 printer" and discrepancy fault of printer types will occur when set
as other types.
b.
The setting of the printer's communication rate is not correct. Normally, it is set as the
thermal printer when delivery, with a rate of 9600BPS. The communication rate of the
printer can be obtained through its self-test and the operations are as follows: press left
button first to turn off the power light and then press right button and press left button
immediately, the printer starts self-test. The printed self-test result contains the
communication rate.
Fault phenomenon: When two or more hosts are networked
together, host 2 can receive the alarm message from host 1, but
host 1 cannot receive data from host 2.
The networking of VST-3010W series host adopts a non-master-slave mode, which
means no master or slave distinction between networking machines. The alarm message of
one host can be transmitted to the other through the networking line only when they have
registered each other’s host number. The fact that host 2 can receive the alarm message
