Portals
Portals provide the ability to seamlessly move from one virtual world (VWD) to
another when triggered by a Key Object. This makes it possible to link multiple
VWDs into what appears to be a single virtual world.
Tip:
Create large virtual worlds through a series of smaller VWDs, linked together through the use of
Portals. By doing so you can lower your polygon count and achieve a greater level of
performance.
Key Objects trigger the movement from one VWD to another. Each must be
assigned a destination VWD and an Entry Camera and all must be based on a
common unit scale.
To create a Portal Key Object:
!
Selecting the desired object from one of your Viewports.
!
Press the “Add Objects” button.
To delete a Key Object, select the desired object from the Key Objects list and press
the “del” button.
