Darning
Darning using an embroidery frame
For darning holes.
1 Lift the presser foot.
Use the feed dog cover plate to cover the
feed dog.
The pins of the plate must be pointing
downwards and click into place when
inserting them into the holes of the
needle plate.
2 Cut the frayed edges of the hole to be
darned and clamp the fabric tightly into
the embroidery frame. We recommend
placing or ironing iron-on stabiliser under
the defective spot.
3 Remove the presser foot holder (see
page 13) and lower the presser foot lifter.
4 Sew the area to be darned with
reinforcing stitches that are not too large.
5 Sew lines that are close together and of
the same length in longitudinal direction.
Move the embroidery frame evenly so
that the darned area will look good.
Round movements help prevent holes at
the turning points.
6 Fill the hole by sewing transverse lines.
7 After completion of the work, remove the
feed dog cover and reinsert the presser
foot holder with the presser foot.
Please note:
The embroidery frame is not included in the
scope of delivery.
