11. Hand steel rest order no. 24480
11.1 Assembly
1. Insert hand steel rest (16) into the mounting hole of the retainer (16.1).
2. Tighten clamping lever (16.2).
3. Guide clamping lever (16.3) with washer (16.5) through the slot in the retainer.
4. Screw clamping lever (16.3) into clamping lug (16.4).
5. The hand steel rest is now fully installed and ready for operation.
11.2 Operation
The height of the hand steel rest can be adjusted continuously from 91 to 155 mm and swiveled 360° around the
two fastening points.
To adjust the hand steel rest, proceed as follows:
1. Loosen the clamping lever (16.3) and move the hand steel rest to the desired position.
2. Loosen the clamping lever (16.2).
3. Move the hand steel rest (16) to the desired height and position it parallel with the workpiece.
4. Tighten clamping lever (16.2).
5. Tighten clamping lever (16.3).
The hand steel rest should be located at approximately the same height as the workpiece axis and 3 to 4 mm away
from the workpiece.
Before processing the workpiece, check to ensure that the workpiece can rotate freely by turning it with
your hand!
