16.6.2 Mounting the bracket for the mountable vernier scales
9. Use a 10-mm spanner to loosen the 2 screws (11) and lay them aside.
10. Screw the vernier bracket of the Y-axis (30) to the vernier bracket of the X axis (25) as shown
11. Do this by inserting the 2 screws (26) through the holes of the vernier bracket X (25)
12. Slide the 2 spacer bushings (27) onto the screws (26)
13. Slide the Y-axis vernier bracket (30) onto the screws (26)
14. Slide the 2 serrated washers (19) onto the screws (26)
15. Use the 2 nuts (18) to screw everything together
Ensure that the two vernier brackets (25) and (30) are aligned perpendicular to each other if possible

For the final tightening of the screws, hold the two nuts (18) tight with a 7 mm spanner
and use a 3 mm hexagon
socket wrench to tighten the two screws (26)
